In proud association with a leading commercial drone construction company, Skills Generation and Autonomous Technology Group are offering an industry first;  entry level program via the MEM20413 Certificate II in Engineering Pathways combined with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority's RePL Remote Pilot Licence. 

This is Australia’s first vocational training offering around the disruptive technology that drones will mean to our way of life and a fantastic opportunity for you to learn basic skills to gain employment in the Engineering sector!

The course will produce distinctive graduates who are able to balance essential and specialized underpinning engineering skills, an understanding of the available pathways in the engineering sector and the opportunity to undertake work on the construction and repair of a drone.

Participants will  build their own drone that they can then use to complete a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), Remote Pilots Licence (RePL) and operate drones commercially.

What You Need To Know

This qualification is intended for people interested in exposure to an engineering or related working environment with a view to entering into employment in that area. This qualification will equip graduates with knowledge and skills which will enhance their prospects of employment in an engineering or related working environment.

Who will this course suit?

You are self-motivated and like to learn in a group environment.  You have an interest in mechanics and engineering and disruptive technologies such as drones and other autonomous technologies.

This course will provided be face to face and you will be receive a hard copy of online learning materials, PPE and a Drone kit to assemble in the completion of your course.

Skills Generation provides a facilitative and collaborative environment to support the underpinnings of effective engineering practice. You have a minimum language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) level that indicates you have a high probability of being able to successfully complete the course. We assist you by checking your LLN proficiency. This helps us to help you by providing the appropriate levels of support to assist you to achieve your goal.

What about recognition of prior learning?

If you are currently working or have worked in a relevant industry, you may be eligible for RPL. Give us a call and we can talk through your particular needs with you.

How much time do I have to complete the course?

This is an intensive Face to Face mode of delivery.  Classes will be conducted 4 days per week across the advertised dates of the program.  You will need to ensure availability for the Face to Face sessions scheduled.  Every effort will made to assist you with catch up however long or multiple absences may hinder your ability to complete the required training.

Your existing experience may mean you are eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) of some units. This reduces the number of units for which you will need to undertake face to face training and assessment.

A re-enrollment fee may apply if you do not complete assessments within the advertised course dates. Please refer to the online Learner Handbook for more details.

Course commencement is per the advertised start dates.  You may enroll any time prior in preparation for course commencement.

Before I enroll, what are my requirements and rights?

Skills Generation is a quality assured RTO that is committed to providing you with a protected and fully informed training and assessment experience. We assist you to do this by providing the Learner Program Guide and the Learner Handbook so that you are properly informed of your rights before you commit to enrolling with us.

The government requires all learners to have a Unique Student Identifier before they can be issued with a qualification so we will also send you information for how you can go about getting your USI – if you don’t already have one.

What is my investment for the course?

This course currently attracts government funding in Queensland under the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you meet certain eligibility criteria.

Depending on your circumstances, your co-contribution for the course could be as little as $150.00 to $3400.00. Completing a simple survey will help us to understand your eligibility for funding. Please go to our online eligibility form and complete an obligation free assessment.

We can come back to you with the results. You can then make an informed decision about proceeding with government subsidized training.
